The Mint Julep...keep the tradition natural!

With Derby 137 less than 24 hours away, how could I not talk about the famous Mint Julep!!! The traditional ingredients of this drink include mint, bourbon, sugar and water. (Although a lot are made from mixes these days.)

Just like anything else, it's better to use the natural ingredients and forgo the pre-mixed concoctions. You will save calories....and it's just classier:)

You are probably looking at anywhere from 150 to 170 calories for an average drink, which isn't that bad when it comes to cocktails!!! Plus, you're going to need the extra sugar too keep your energy up for all the socializing and betting you will be doing!!

Happy Derby 137!!
